CarbonArmor and Waterproofing in Dorothy, New Jersey
Challenge
After a tree had buried its roots under the basement in Dorthy, New Jersey, this home built in 1998 developed cracks that ran from the basement to the upstairs bedrooms. (Pictured) The tree was removed out of fear the cracks would get worse but now the home had developed a water seepage problem whenever it rained. Without a sump pump, the water flooded the basement soon after the rain had started. The homeowner called us to return her foundation walls back into position and stop the water from entering her basement.
Solution
Foundation damage caused by tree roots is not a new problem for our experienced professionals. With the installation of a CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcement System, we were able to secure the structure and prevent further damage. (Pictured) These non-intrusive carbon fiber strips can be placed behind water and oil heaters, HVAC systems, and even drywall and utilize the same technology used in supporting bridges, skyscrapers, and bomb shelters. A TripleSafe Sump Pump System was installed due to the large amounts of water coming into the basement. (Pictured) With a powerful primary pump, a backup pump, and a battery backup system, this is a top of the line pumping system. Installed just underneath the perimeter edge of the floor is our Water Guard Drainage System. This drainage system was designed to direct water to the sump pump without getting clogged up by mud. Our TrenchDrain was also installed at the base of the staircase leading out of the basement. This ensures the water that enters through this passage is also directed to the sump pump. Impressed with the work and no longer worried about cracks or flooding in her home, the customer is happy she chose our company.
