SmartJack Installation in Brigantine New Jersey
Challenge
This shore home in Brigantine New Jersey, built-in 1984, suffered from high humidity levels in the crawl space which caused the wooden pillars to sag and infest with mold. (Pictured) This was due to being so close to the shoreline and suffering from previous flood damages to the property. The sagging pillars caused the floor between the kitchen and the living room to slope down into the crawl space. Recently having bought the home and subsequently hearing about the reputation of Dry Guys, acquired by Quality 1st Basement Systems, the homeowner called our team to find a solution for his new shore home.
Solution
Spanning over two install dates, the team first installed the patented SmartJacks in the crawl space to support the pillars under the floor. (Pictured) A SmartSump crawl space sump pump was also installed on this visit to pump out water that entered the crawl space during rainfall and floods. (Pictured) After returning twice to tighten the jacks, the floor returned to its original state and the homeowner was pleased with the work that was done.
