Crawl Space Mold Control in Glassboro, New Jersey
Challenge
This home built in 1995 in Glassboro, New Jersey, suffered from severe mold problems due to a faulty drainage system and lack of a sump pump. In an attempt to lower her humidity levels, the homeowner installed a dehumidifier that she bought at a local hardware store in her crawl space. Instead of fixing the problem, the dehumidifier ran constantly and need to be drained multiple times a day. After discovering she had three different types of mold growing in her crawl space, the homeowner knew a permanent solution had to be found. After discovering our team of Microbial Remediation Technicians, she called us to save her crawl space.
Solution
When dealing with mold, removing what is visible won’t solve the problem. As long as conditions are right for mold growth, it will always be a threat to you and your home. An environment that neutralizes growth is the only way to be truly safe, and our team has the tools to achieve this. We installed a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier which prevented water and humidity from passing through over the "floor" of the crawl space. and SilverGlo Insulation Panels which sealed the walls from outside moisture and humidity infiltration. Replacing the old dehumidifier, the SaniDry CX Dehumidifier is a powerful dehumidification system designed for a crawl space. While also purifying the air, the SaniDry is self-draining uses less energy than a standard dehumidifier, yet it is four times as powerful. Capable of pumping out 2,500 gallons of water per hour, the SmartSump Crawl Space Pump is designed to fit with the CleanSpace liner and has a sump alarm to alert of major water in the crawl space. The homeowner is happy that her property is now mold free and she no longer has to remove water from her crawl space, or her previous dehumidifier.
