Encapsulating a Pilesgrove Crawl Space to Solve Years-Long Water Issue!
Challenge
This Pilesgrove homeowner had been dealing with moisture and water in his crawl space for the full 4 years he has lived in the home. The crawl space was all concrete, and water had been seeping in from the back. Water would leak through the walls and parts of the concrete floor. He wanted to ensure the crawl space is dry all of the time, and get it done as soon as possible!
Solution
Our System Design Specialist, Mike G., inspected the crawl space, designed a project plan, and quoted the homeowner in the same appointment. He explained our encapsulation process to the homeowner, and they both decided that is the best solution for the crawl space!
Our team fully encapsulated the crawl space. This was done by laying down our drainage matting on the floor, insulating the walls with our RimJoist insulation, then covering the space with our CleanSpace vapor barriers. A Super Sump pump system was installed at the lowest spot of the space, ensuring any water is exposed of through an attached discharge line. All vents and exits were sealed as well, keeping the space protected from the elements.
Lastly, we have included our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, and energy-efficient filtration system that regulates humidity and eliminates mold spores, dust particles, and musty odors.
This entire process was done efficiently and effectively, and the homeowner now has some peace of mind!
