Wet Crawl Space Transformed In Marlton, New Jersey
Challenge
Wet and nasty crawl spaces are not uncommon in New Jersey, and this home in Marlton is no exception. Built-in the 1980's, the house shows that it has struggled with water seepage for a while. The home's sump pump would not be able to discharge all the water in the events of heavy rainstorms and a lot of the insulation had fallen down from between the moldy floor joists. The homeowner was looking to sell the home and needed to repair the crawl space as it was diminishing the value of the property. She found Dry Guys in her local paper and called to get a free homeowner inspection. Our System Designer, Joe, went out and confirmed that there was a high level of humidity which was causing the insulation to fall out as well as the musty smell which was noticeable throughout the house.
Solution
The goal for this project was to keep the area dry and stop the musty orders caused by the high humidity. The Dry Guys team installed a SuperSump Sump Pump System and two lateral drains to direct the water. Our SuperSump includes a 1/3 horsepower motor and a sealed lid to ensure moisture doesn’t escape into the home. The entire crawl space was wrapped in our patented CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. This is a durable liner that will stop humidity from entering the house which will eliminate the odors. Our CleanSpace looks great and provides a safe place for storage! The homeowner was very happy with the results and not only was able to sell her home, but the new homeowner also keeps up with the servicing of the system! “All of your personnel were great and very informative when asked questions. They did a great job!”
