Waterproofing a Pedricktown, NJ Crawl Space
Challenge
This crawl space in Pedricktown, New Jersey, suffers from mold growth after long term exposure to humidity. This was due to the home’s sump pump not being able to discharge all the water seeping in. Mold damages the wooden joist that supports the home and if left untouched, the structural integrity of the home can be compromised. Simply removing the mold will not be enough, a humid free environment must be created to naturalize mold growth.
Solution
Our System Designer Ian Gattuso identified multiple issues throughout the crawl space which identified multiple intrusion points for water. The system he created would put a stop for this and eliminate the humidity problem.
Sealing the crawl space entirely is critical to controlling humidity and preventing future mold growth. This is accomplished with the installation of the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and insulating with our SilverGlo product. These durable patented products and sealing the crawl space door and vent block create an airtight seal against humidity.
Our TripleSafe SumpPump System is our top of the line pumping system and was put in place of the previous pump that was installed with the house. This includes a primary pump, backup pump, and battery backup.
Lastly, a SaniDry CX Dehumidifier was installed to regulate humidity depending on air temperature. This will keep the area dry and safe from mold growth.
All these products work together to protect the crawl space for years to come and the homeowners couldn’t be any happier!
