Waterproofing the Basement of the Operation Center of First National Bank of Elmer, NJ
Challenge
This basement in Elmer, NJ, was having problems with water coming through the ground and over the sill plate due to landscaping issues. Due to iron ochre in the soil, the walls and the floor of the basement were stained a rust-colored orange. Even with a one HP Sump Pump, there was always at least 2 inches of water, at all times.
Solution
Once the team arrived they began to analyze the problems the basement was having. They came to the conclusion that many products would have to be introduced in order to help with the water issues. Weep holes were drilled around the bottom block perimeter of the basement to drain the water behind the walls into the Waterguard and to prepare the installation of our WaterGuard drainage system. Sump Pumps are the first line of defense in a basement, which is why two of our most reliable TripleSafe Sump Pumps were set in place. To help with additional humidity and to clean the musty air, a SaniDry XP Upright Dehumidifier was installed as well.
With over 170ft of WaterGuard installed around the basement, a 60ft-long exterior discharge line placed from the foundation wall to a drainage pond, two TripleSafe Sump Pumps, and one SaniDry, this basement will now be able to keep itself dry from any water that could cause problems.
